Undergraduate Students

  • Undergraduate students may apply for Undergraduate Teaching Assistant positions, but those are solely job offers, and come with no tuition reduction.
  • Want to do some research? The University offers a $1K stipend for a semesters' work as an Undergraduate Research Apprentice to a professor in the department. Pick a professor and work with him/her to submit an application.
  • IT&E offers positions to a small group of Undergraduate Peer Advisors (UPAs) who assist the associate dean. This isn't to be confused with the CS department's UTA program. Contact Dr. Bernard White's office (room 160 of Science and Tech II) for more information.
  • IT&E has a page on scholarships, including a variety of engineering-related scholarships.

Graduate Students

  • The Department offers both Graduate Teaching Assistantships and Graduate Research Assistantships, both of which come with a tuition reduction or waiver.
  • IT&E offers a yearly Graduate Fellowship for multiple Ph.D. and MS students, and a President's Graduate Scholarship for one incoming Ph.D. student per year. See IT&E's financial aid page for more information.
  • Several other departments in IT&E offer assistantships to computer science graduate students. See IT&E's financial aid page for a list of contacts. You might try AIT in particular.
