Your GMU Catalog contains the official rules. Be careful to consult the proper catalog for your program requirements. Normally, you will be required to fulfill the requirements under the catalog in effect at the time you first enrolled at GMU. If you have been continuously enrolled at GMU since the time you entered, you should also have the option to fulfill the requirements of any GMU catalog that has been in effect during your time enrolled as a student.

The CS "Student Information" bulletin board outside Room 4300, Engineering Building has an organized display of key regulations from the Catalog. Various other helpful information is also posted to this bulletin board from time to time, and information regarding student advisors is kept there.

CS staff in the department office, Room 4300 Engineering Bldg, are qualified to answer many student questions on both policy and procedure. Feel free to come by the CS department office on a walk-in basis during regular dept. office hours (posted on the outer doors) to see if your question may be answerable by the staff. The Graduate Program Specialist for the MS-CS and PhD-CS programs is Ms. Therese Michael and the Graduate Program Specialist for the MS-IS, MS-ISA, and MS-SWE programs is Mr. Ryan Lucas.

Forms are also available in hard copy by asking CS department staff. Most of these forms are also available online here

Advisors Every student has an assigned faculty advisor to assist you with scheduling and other academic decisions. We recommend that you meet with your advisor on a regular basis. For additional information concerning CS faculty advisors, see the Your Advisor page.
